The purpose of the competition is to recognise the best engineers or research educators working in the field of construction, and to help to raise the prestige of construction engineers\u2019 profession. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the\nfirst time in Estonia\u2019s history the Porto Franco centre is being built at a\ndistance of mere 16 metres from the sea, while having three underground\nstoreys. One of the nominees for the title of the Construction Engineer of the\nYear is an authorised construction engineer Johannes Pello, a lecturer at the\nTallinn University of Technology and a designer at Johannes Pello IB O\u00dc, who\ndesigned the 13 metres deep foundation pit of Porto Franco, the load-bearing\nwall of bored piles with the anchors and the bearing piles of the building\ncomplex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner of the title of the\nConstruction Engineer of the Year will be announced on 27 November at the\nconference \u201cConstruction 2020+.
